認識《MARAIS 瑪黑家居選物》多年，知道團隊不僅選物眼光好、品味獨特，透過社群分享，吸引許多認真營造居家生活美感的同好。不只如此，就連品牌背後的團隊人員，各個擁有多年專業經驗與背景，透過激盪靈感、謀合出令人激賞的設計專案與活動。
我一年與團隊見面一次，聆聽品牌對市場的遠景、線上與線下的發展與計劃。他們說話時眼裡都有光，介紹新進的產品線，說明如何運用在空間佈置上。我想，如果當年沒有移居德國依舊從事空間設計一職，MARAIS 瑪黑家居選物會是理想的合作夥伴。又或是，不久的將來等我搬回台灣，可以在瑪黑找到些喜歡的單品來佈置居住的空間呢。
2024年在《MARAIS 瑪黑家居選物》台北安和概念店舉辦產品靜物攝影工作坊時，了解燈具在居家空間裡可以塑造的能量與氛圍，便更加留意瑪黑分享在社群上關於照明與燈具的資訊。
今年再訪，看到了 Ferm Living 這盞 Arum Portable Lamp 無線桌燈。

Arum Portable Lamp 為一款無線設計的LED燈具，透過 USB-C 充電，方便在生活空間裡移動，搭配不同的使用需求，營造咫尺之內的氛圍。燈罩類似花瓣的設計不只優雅，還十分符合使用，將光線集中在一定的範圍內，卻毫不刺眼。
我能想像晚餐後，將這盞現代黑的燈放置在餐桌上，如果是冬天，那麼我會準備一杯厚潤的紅酒，如果是夏季，那麼便是冰透的白酒，不管看劇或讀書，都會是美好的陪伴。又或者，工作桌與其後方書櫃所圈起來的那個小空間，是我最常窩著的角落，在書櫃上放一盞松綠色的燈，如果傍晚還工作時便點亮它，說不定會有更好的靈感。

那日我在安和門市為幾款產品拍攝時，有兩位看來不滿三十歲的年輕女子進了來，兩人徑直走向這盞燈的陳列櫃前。「你覺得等我領薪水應該買上次跟你說的那個包包還是這盞燈？」說話的女孩指著松綠色的燈問友人，眉間稍微皺了起來。「這盞燈和你新佈置的那個角落好搭，你不覺得嗎？」友人沒有正面回答，卻已經給了答案。原來，煩惱的女孩幾個月前搬家，第一次一個人住小套房，佈置了一個有張茶几配上小沙發的放空角落，正猶豫是否要將這盞燈帶回家圓夢。
我本意沒想偷聽，但是人就在一旁，兩人討論的內容一清二楚。背對著他們，繼續拍照，但我臉上卻是掛著微笑的。我懂那種為自己佈置一個空間或是角落的滿足感，一個屬於自己的地方是可以讓人感到安心舒適的。我不覺得買包或是買燈的決定哪個好，但是看著離開女孩的表情，我想她已經做出了決定，也替她感到開心。

我喜歡將設計應用在日常生活瑣細事物上的理念，讓居家更舒服；Arum 系列燈具便是這樣好的設計。忍不住想像回台灣定居時，會在哪個小區落腳呢？公寓不管新舊得找不附帶家具的，才能慢慢地把理想的居家模樣堆疊出來。
生活中有好多好多的事物得妥協，但是有些不能也不必。將來佈置時，我可能也會面對那個女孩的猶豫，不過我忘不了她臉上的笑容，那是一種在琢磨歷練後，慢慢知道自己想要什麼的選擇。
透過一次一次的選擇來挑選進入生活中的人事物的過程，的確是萬分美好的。

I've known MARAIS for many years now, and I’ve always admired their impeccable eye for curation and unique taste. Through their social media presence, they’ve drawn in a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about creating beauty in their homes. Beyond that, the team behind the brand brings years of professional experience and background, coming together to spark creative synergy and deliver inspiring design projects and events.
Once a year, I meet with the team to hear about their vision for the market, their plans both online and offline. There’s always a sparkle in their eyes when they speak—whether they’re introducing a new product line or explaining how it can be used in interior styling. Had I not moved to Germany and continued working in spatial design, MARAIS would’ve been an ideal partner to collaborate with. Or perhaps, when I eventually move back to Taiwan, I’ll find something perfect at MARAIS to decorate my new space.
In 2024, a still life photography workshop held at the Taipei Anhe Concept Store gave me deeper insight into how lighting transforms the energy and atmosphere of a space. Since then, I've found myself paying even closer attention to the lighting features shared by MARAIS on social media.
This year’s return visit brought a delightful encounter: the Arum Portable Lamp by Ferm Living.
The Arum Portable Lamp is a cordless LED light that charges via USB-C. Its portability makes it perfect for moving around the home to suit various needs, creating a cozy ambiance just within reach. Its petal-like shade design is not only elegant but also practical, focusing light in a defined area without being harsh on the eyes.
Visualizing it on a dining table after dinner brings a certain warmth to mind—perhaps paired with a rich red wine in winter or a crisp white one in summer. Whether watching a series or flipping through a book, this lamp would make a charming companion. In another corner, the green version could sit atop the bookshelf behind my desk. Lit in the early evening while I work, it might even invite a spark of creativity.
While photographing some products that day at the Anhe store, I noticed two young women—probably in their late twenties—enter and walk straight toward the lamp display.
“Do you think I should get the bag I told you about last time, or this lamp?” one of them asked, pointing to the green lamp, a subtle crease between her brows.
Her friend didn’t answer directly but smiled, “This lamp would go perfectly with the new corner you just set up, don’t you think?” That answer said it all. I later learned the girl had recently moved into a studio—her first time living alone—and was debating whether to bring the lamp home to complete a quiet little corner she’d created with a sofa and a coffee table.
Eavesdropping wasn’t my intention, but their voices were clear, and I couldn’t help but overhear. With my back to them, I kept snapping photos, all the while smiling. The joy of creating a space just for yourself is something I deeply understand. A place to feel safe and at ease. Choosing between a bag and a lamp wasn’t really the point—but from the look on her face as she left, the decision had been made. And it made me happy for her.
There’s something deeply satisfying about incorporating good design into the small, everyday moments of life. The Arum series embodies that perfectly.
I can’t help but imagine—when I eventually return to Taiwan, where might I settle down? Whether the apartment is new or old, it must be unfurnished, so I can build my ideal home piece by piece.
Life often demands compromise, but some things shouldn’t—and don’t have to—be one of them. One day I might face the same indecision that girl did. But I’ll remember the smile she wore—one that comes from knowing, after all the learning and reflecting, what you truly want.
Choosing what and who to welcome into your life, moment by moment, is indeed something beautifully meaningful.
